2011 Phillips Family Reunion Fish Fry

On August 5, 2011 the Phillips Family in Shelby North Carolina sponsored a family fish fry on the 1st evening of a 3 day Heading to the fish fryreunion at the Church of Christ fellowship hall. Walking to eat some fishWe could smell the food way before we could see it. As we got closer we saw Mr. Richard Phillips and Mr. Kenneth Roberts cooking fish. Each greeted us with a very warm welcome and provided directions.

Phillips Family ReunionWhen we entered into the building, the first thing that caught our attention was a huge banner on the wall which read "2011 Phillips Family Reunion" which included two symbols on the side which meant "Peace" and "Love". We could look around the room and feel peace and love which was expressed with the warm greetings, smiles, hugs, and laughter. Everyone was so happy to see each other.Boys on pc

Well so much for the talking, I'll let you see the love for yourselves via the images taken during this fantastic evening. Later I'll come back and provide all the details on the entertainment that was provided.

Ok, like I said, I will come back to share with you about the evening's entertainment. Well, the fun began with our game show host, Mrs. Andrea Dula leading the family in an old time favorite game which was "Bingo". It began playing straight bingo, and later she created different twist on bingo.  She changed up the game by playing only 4 corners win, or straight down under an alphabet wins, or straight across. You can tell she has had experience playing this game. She was a great host for the evening. There were lots of fun and laughter playing bingo.. I only wish someone had video taped this event.

The prizes were very nice. I recall Theagis Lynch won a very nice watch and believe it or not, it works! There were perfume, lotion, powder and many more beautiful items that were given away as prizes for winning Bingo. We ended up staying there until late in the night and there were no more prizes to be won. What a grand evening we had.
Oh, did I mention about the food? Ah man! There was some great food served along with the fish. Scroll back up a bit and look at the spread on the tables. Not all the food is shown.  There was a dessert table as well. By the end of the night, there wasn’t much food left.

Everyone truly appreciated what the Shelby committee had provided thus far and was very excited about the next day's banquet.
